New Cat :D

Well, after about 23 years of service, my stock catalytic converter(and some of my exhaust pipe )bite the dust.
Oh well, it finally made me start putting some work into my car.
Tracking down a universal cat wasn't too easy, but I found one at advanced auto for $70 plus some more for some fittings and what not.
A direct fit one would have been slick, but I didn't have $400 in pocket that weekend. :/

But all and all putting it in went pretty smooth and gave me some more motivation to get
the SI board and tank done.
Hopefully that'll be next pay check. :)

Plans For The Car

It's true, my 318 has a few kinks that need worked out,
thankfully nothing major, only minor things that you probably should fix after you hit the 257,000.

First thing on list will be putting a new fuel thank on it, as the original one has a small leak a little above half way, and second a new SI board and SI board batteries, since the fuel gauge seems to think that I have a full tank about 50% of the time. *I wish it were true!*

I've got a long list on things I want to do, but these two are at the top.

I look forward to finally getting to work on my e30 and learning more about BMW mechanics.

Photo

Stopped by the lake last night after work to get some photos of the docks with the sunset,
it had been raining off and on for the last few hours
and was the first time I'd driven my 318 in the rain, leaving work I was wondering how well the car would handle on the wet roads, I was pretty impressed by the little bimmer, not once did it slip or slide and it did tight turns like nothing.
Not to mention how much fun it made the drive, especially with the 5-speed in it.

Plates

Finally got the plates for my car today,
she's now rolling through the country roads. :)
Took about 15 minutes to get the plates and title, and about $100 :|
